Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
What a great start to Anti-Bullying awareness week at MPPS! Lots of odd socks yesterday and also lots of children being 'spotted' carrying out acts of kindness. School Council reps, Playground Leaders and Peer Mentors have been very busy spotting and there are a lot of children feeling - quite rightly - very proud of themselves.
Our four wonderful Eco representatives, Amelia, Amelia, Hanna and Frankie, attended our first eco MAT meeting at the Flaxmill along with Mrs Molloy. All four girls represented Mount Pleasant Primary with impeccable behaviour and fantastic ideas on their dreams for our school to be even more eco friendly than it already is.
They were challenged to create a piece of artwork using only items of rubbish, such as crisp packets, sweet and biscuit wrappers! Amelia, Amelia, Hanna and Frankie created a bright and colourful poster showcasing the importance of bees to the environment and incorporating our school Darwin value of changeability.
'Bee the change'.
Well done to the 5 girls who competed in the Year 5/6 School Games Gymnastics Competition at Shrewsbury High School. They performed a floor routine and vault against 7 other schools. They came 3rd overall
A huge thank you to our two leaders from year 5 who have helped to coach the girls
Year 6 pupils went to the Shrewsbury tag rugby games and played amazing!
They topped their group, won the quarter final, won the semi final and played a fabulous game in the final narrowly finishing 2nd.
They will go on to represent Shrewsbury in the county games finals in May - Woop!
They were a credit to themselves and the school!
☺️Thank you for your generous donation for our harvest festival today. Well done to School Council who helped to organise it all and Flaxmill class who transported it, ready to go straight to the food bank. Your kindness will help many local families in need. ☺️

Great skills learnt - Well done all!
30 pupils from Year 5 completed their Playground Leader Training today. Working with the School Games Organiser - they learnt lots of great games to play with younger children at lunchtimes.
The children all had a wonderful time at the MAT Poetry fest this week. They took part in poetry and creative writing activities led by a writer for National Geographic magazine as a reward for all their super efforts in learning poetry this term!
It was fantastic to see so many parents at our information event for handwriting, reading and spelling in KS1. If you were unable to attend you can read our presentation here.
Well done to Severn, Meadow, Porthill and the year 5 helpers for a wonderful performance of Lights Camel Action!
