Computing

The units in our Connected Curriculum for Computing, deliver the aims and contents of the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Computing in Key Stage 1 and 2.  

E-Safety is fundemenatl and is reviewed and revisited each term, giving children the necessary knowledge to stay safe online.  In conjunction with our PSHE curriculum this mets the objectives of the DfE’s 'Education for a Connected World framework'

EYFS

Computing is taught in the ‘Understanding the World’ strand of the EYFS curriculum.

The following statements, taken from the Early Learning Goals, will scaffold the children's Computing skills before they move into KS1:

30-50 Months

· To know how to operate simple toys/devices.

 · To show an interest in technological toys or real objects with knobs or pulley.

· To show skill in making toys work by pressing or lifting to achieve effects such as sound, movements or new images.

· To know that information can be retrieved from computers.

40-60 Months

· To complete a simple program on a computer.

· To interact with age appropriate computer software.

ELG

· To recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes, work places and schools.

· To select and use technology for particular purposes.
