EYFS
Design & Technology is referred to as 'Expressive Arts and Design' in EYFS. These statements taken from the Early Learning Goals will scaffold the children's Design Technology skills before they move into KS1
• Explore, use and refine a variety of artistic effects to express
their ideas and feelings.
• Return to and build on their previous learning, refining ideas
and developing their ability to represent them.
• Create collaboratively, sharing ideas, resources and skills.
• Safely use and explore a variety of materials, tools and
techniques, experimenting with colour, design, texture, form
and function.
• Share their creations, explaining the process they have used.

The Harry Shields Memorial DT Challenge 2023
The theme of the Harry Shields Memorial DT challenge in 2023 was to make a bird feeder which linked to our Arts & Creativity week.
The design criteria was:
⭐️Can only use recycled materials
⭐️Must look aesthetically pleasing
⭐️Should attract wild birds
⭐️Should deter pigeons and squirrels
Year 6 did a fantastic job!
