Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Well done to all those children who entered the Muller recycling competition. Here’s the winner! He has won his own Muller Cow which he has named ‘Milkshake’, a gardening set for his class AND a trip to a Muller farm in the spring term. Huge congratulations.
Thank you to our children for a fantastic music performance yesterday with Jane Hadwick! What wonderful performances :)
Our year 5 team who attended the Maths Code Breaking challenge at the High School on Friday did a great job! Out of 18 teams, they came first! Well done, we’re incredibly proud of you.
Our MAT Parliament had their inaugural meeting this week at the Flaxmill. The children were bursting with ideas to raise funds for our MAT charity.
A big THANK YOU to Love Plants Love Plants for their generous gift of an amazing Christmas tree. Eco Council had a lovely afternoon choosing the tree and looking at other festive activities.
It's been the BEST day today! There have been so many kind acts this week but today, EVERYWHERE you go you cannot miss the fact that children have been 'spotted' being kind and caring towards each other. Children spent the afternoon with their reading buddies, carrying out a photo trail, the 'bearpee' challenge and other Children In Need themed activities. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day and for Mrs Cotterill and School Council for orgniasing it.
Some of our Year 5 and 6 pupils were lucky enough to have the opportunity today to work with Dawn Powell from Mythstories. They became museum curators, displayed and organised artefacts and created QR codes which will take pupils to the Mythstories website to read/hear the stories linked to the artefacts. Well done! Thank you Mythstories
What a great start to Anti-Bullying awareness week at MPPS! Lots of odd socks yesterday and also lots of children being 'spotted' carrying out acts of kindness. School Council reps, Playground Leaders and Peer Mentors have been very busy spotting and there are a lot of children feeling - quite rightly - very proud of themselves.
Our four wonderful Eco representatives, Amelia, Amelia, Hanna and Frankie, attended our first eco MAT meeting at the Flaxmill along with Mrs Molloy. All four girls represented Mount Pleasant Primary with impeccable behaviour and fantastic ideas on their dreams for our school to be even more eco friendly than it already is.
They were challenged to create a piece of artwork using only items of rubbish, such as crisp packets, sweet and biscuit wrappers! Amelia, Amelia, Hanna and Frankie created a bright and colourful poster showcasing the importance of bees to the environment and incorporating our school Darwin value of changeability.
'Bee the change'.
Well done to the 5 girls who competed in the Year 5/6 School Games Gymnastics Competition at Shrewsbury High School. They performed a floor routine and vault against 7 other schools. They came 3rd overall
A huge thank you to our two leaders from year 5 who have helped to coach the girls
