Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The figure for whole-school attendance has risen for seven weeks in a row and is now an incredible 97.2%. This is an impressive achievement and we are very proud. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all parents and children who have helped to contribute to this by encouraging and reinforcing good attendance habits. One day last week there were only two children absent in the whole school. This really is great! Please keep it up.
Thank you. Mrs Benge and Markus All-in
In 2014, one hundred years after the First World War began, every child at MPPS made a commemorative poppy. These have been displayed in our library for the past four years and have been admired by all who have visited. As this year marks the end of the centenary, we decided that it seemed appropriate to take the poppies down and allow each pupil currently with us to have one to keep. Children will bring theirs home over the next few days. Please decide on a suitably fitting way to keep this poppy special.
In today's assembly, we leaned about 'remembrance ' and considered all the different people we need to be thankful to.
Our new Darwin Value for this half term is 'Stickability'. To introduce each Darwin Value we have an afternoon activity that every child completes. Today's activity was to make our own butter! Inspired by the story about the frog who got stuck in a barrel of cream we stuck at it and churned the butter! It was worth it as we all enjoyed our crackers at the end of the day!
"It's changes colour when it turns into butter, it looks like ice-cream!" - Jessica, Abbey Class.
"We don't think the milk will turn into butter." Poppy, Severn Class
"We've made butter out of cream!" Skylar, Severn Class
"That was tough, but we stuck at it and got there in the end! I quite liked the butter if I'm honest." Hotspur Class
