  • Sporting Heroes Day

Fri 30 Jun 2017 Mrs Cotterill
Thank you to all the children of Mount Pleasant for raising £220 for Children with Cancer.  The children came dressed as their favourite sporting heroes, and were involved in running/walking as far as they could in the afternoon. This event was to support Mrs Cotterill in raising money for the charity, when she does the Prudential Ride London 100 mile bike ride at the end of the month.
  • Crossbar Cup

    Mon 26 Jun 2017
Our Year 5/6 team competed in the Crossbar Cup on Friday.  They won every game and made it to the final.  After a thrilling game, it all hung on penalties.  Sadly, Oakmeadow snatched a victory!  We were really proud of the way we played and the season we've had.
  • Year 5 trip to Shrewsbury Sixth Form College

Taster Day at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College

A group of Year 5 pupils experienced a taster day at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and took part in some lessons and lots of fun activities to see what it would be like to attend this college.

The children began with a Geography lesson about earthquakes and, using spaghetti and marshmallows, built a structure to withstand an earthquake. They even took part in an earthquake drill - that's why we were hiding under the tables!

The children built paper rockets and tested how far they could fly, during a physics lesson. We were all very lucky to meet an African Snail and Socks (the 5ft Cornsnake) who lives in the Biology Department.

To end the day, the children carried out a science experiment in a Chemistry lesson, testing the reaction between  vinegar and bicarbonate soda. The Chemistry teacher showed the children a few more experiments that had exciting results.
