Please continue to encourage your child to read daily at home. They can read any book of their choice. We have a bank of e-books that can be accessed, these are similar to the school reading level books that your child brings home.
Your child will be sent login details via an app message.
Year 2 Phonics - Read Write Inc
Year 2 children use a programme called 'Read Write Inc' to support with phonics. There is a 'Extra practice zone' on the Oxford Tree Website.
After Easter we will be setting children tasks each week from the website. Below is a parent information leaflet about how to use it.
Please login to 'Oxford Owl' - https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-pupils/pupil-home and use the same details as you would to access the e-books. The username and password has been sent via the school app.
We know how much our pupils love hearing stories being read at school so we are developing ways in which we can deliver story time whilst they are at home. Today (24th April) you will be getting log on details to the video resource centre that is under the 'Children' section on the website or the direct link is below. A special video from Mrs Benge is waiting for you and there'll be more to come!
Writing CompetitionInspired by the extraordinary place-names of Shropshire, the University of Nottingham, in collaboration with Shrewsbury-based children's book specialist, Button & Bear, invites the children of the West Midlands to write a short story of no more than 500 words, using one of twelve Shropshire place-names as their inspiration. Place-names are often hundreds of years old, and they tell us all sorts of exciting things about Shropshire's past. So, what will you write about?
Coming soon.. exciting pupil portals to support home learning! These will be available shortly. You will receive information on how to access these soon.
