Y6 Footballing Success
Congratulations to Mount Pleasant's Y6 Boys' team who progressed to the final of the Severn Cup (Shrewsbury District) at the Sports Village yesterday evening. The team drew with Harlescott in their first game (0-0) before losing to St. Giles (0-2). However, Harrison scored a superb long range effort to beat Belvidere 1-0 and ensure Mount pleasant progressed to the semi-final in second place behind St. Giles. In the semi-final we played our friends and MAT rivals - Greenfields. We defended superbly to draw against a very talented team and to force penalties. We were confident with the shoot-out as we had Ashley in goal! He pulled off three great saves to allow Josh Knight to score the crucial spot kick. We now progress to the final where we will play Oakmeadow Primary. Good luck boys. If we win, it'll be the fourth year in a row the Y6 team has won a major trophy. Fingers crossed.
