OUTSTANDING SPOKEN ENGLISH EXAM RESULTS FOR MOUNT PLEASANT PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS
100% Pass Rate for 12 pupils from Mount Pleasant Primary School
Mount Pleasant Primary School hosted an Awards Ceremony for the twelve successful pupils: Luke Arrowsmith, Erin Knight, Freya Rickman, Sophie Roberts, Ethan Hammond, Lukas Dubietis, Darcey Roberts, Bethan Breeze, Lauren Hobbs, Lydia McKenzie, Emma Bennett and Aaliyah Young.

The pupils were thrilled to receive their results following success in the English Speaking Board exam taken in March 2012. Ten pupils were awarded distinctions (the highest grade) and two received merit plus awards.

Candidates taking these examinations develop valuable communication skills while gaining in confidence in the process.
The English Speaking Board is a national awarding body which provides graded assessments from Key Stage 1 to Advanced level standard in Spoken English. Further information can be found at: www.esbuk.org
Headteacher Alan Brannen commented:
"The children worked incredibly hard and had a lot of fun developing their speaking skills at an after school club. The club was been run by three wonderful volunteers: Judy Clowes, Karen Hatcher and Carol Fisher who expertly prepared the children for the exam. The exam which involved poetry recital, reading aloud from a book and delivering a two-minute presentation was certainly challenging and children did so very well; I am immensely proud of our pupils and their achievements."
