Anti-bullying performance

Our KS2 pupils welcomed ‘The Takeaway Theatre Company’ to school recently. The children thoroughly enjoyed a performance called ‘Hope’. This focused on relationships (which ties in with our ‘Darwin Values’) and explored issues relating to bullying: how to cope with it, understanding reasons for it, as well as exploring the theme from a different perspective. Two workshops followed which enabled the pupils to question the actors directly and influence how the performance should end. To do this, pupils had to consider and explain their viewpoints about the behaviour of the characters in the performance. Here are a couple of photographs from the performance.
