⭐ Mrs O'Brien will be the class teacher. Mrs Bennett, Mrs Michalak and Mrs Kamudu will be our teaching assistants in class . ⭐
⭐️ PE will be on a Monday and Thursday, please ensure your child has their kit on a Monday and leave it in school until Thursday. ⭐️
⭐️ Reading books - children will receive a school book, possibly two books to support their phonics. They are able to change these reading books when complete. Please encourage your child to read three times per week. They will complete a reading challenge through the year, each Monday we check reading records, if they have completed three reads they move on step along the journey towards a prize. ⭐️
⭐️ Water bottles - please ensure your child has a water bottle in school everyday. If it is warm please ensure your child has a hat and wears suncream ⭐️

Linked with Bouncebackability and the story of "The Recycled Orchestra Of Paraguay", Severn class enjoyed making musical instruments from recycled materials with their reading buddies.
Art
The children have enjoyed exploring line drawing and using different media.
A visit from a wonderful Storyteller.
We were lucky enough to take part in a workshop with Dawn the Storyteller. She combined a story of snow and ice with actions, music and finally a chance for the children to create their own Winter story settings. These will be used in to generate pieces of writing in English lessons over the next few weeks. The children (and Teachers!) all thoroughly enjoyed it!

In English we are learning to perform the poem " If I Were King...." by AA Milne. We began by putting the poem in order.
Severn Class enjoyed Mrs Benge and Winnie coming to read a story to the class.

Severn Class went into the Forest today to imagine they were one of the Three Little pigs making the journey to the house made of bricks. We talked about what we could see, hear, smell and touch. We then wrote some words and sentences using the describing words we had thought of.

Severn Class enjoyed the first session of Buddy Reading today with children from Quarry Class.
