Welcome back for the Spring Term

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas break. We are excited to welcome you back for the Spring term. Meadow Class looks different as we have moved the tables around. Children will spend some of their day sitting in rows and some of the day sitting in groups. Here are some pictures of what it will look like.

Darwin Values Activity

For our Darwin Values (Bouncebackability) Activity this half term, the children read the story of ‘Ada’s Violin : The story of the recycled orchestra of Paraguay’ and so were able to create their own recycled instrument with their buddy from Hotspur Class! We had a variety of interesting and creative instruments and we even created our own recycled orchestra in class.

Art - Shape, Line and Colour

This week, Meadow have been exploring the formal elements of Art. We have looked at the work of artists such as Beatriz Milhazes, David Hockney and more to see how they use shape, line and colour in their own art work. Meadow have worked collaboratively to create art that is inspired by different artists.

Storytelling Workshop
On Tuesday, Meadow class took part in an exciting story telling workshop with a lady called Dawn. Dawn told Meadow the exciting myth of “Mrs Ellis” and the children were able to use a range of resources to create their own story mats. Everybody had such interesting, creative and unique story mats and we are excited to introduce story mats into our choosing time!

Harvest Festival

Thank you for for all of your donations for Harvest Festival. We had a lovely assembly with Reverend Heath and we sang our Harvest Festival Song.

We enjoyed a live band performance.
