This half term our sessions will be on:

  • Tuesday 22nd January
  • Tuesday 5th February

Children attending morning sessions can come to school in their kit, to save time changing, with their school uniform in a bag to change back into.

Forest school sessions work in a very hands on way, encouraging all children to contribute, take part and develop a sense of team work and a supportive attitude. Our sessions will be based around the children’s in class learning and will have links to Art, Science, Maths and will also inspire their writing. Please encourage your child to tell you about their forest school sessions and look out for weekly updates on the school website.

For Forest School sessions children will need the following;

  • Long trousers.  Even when it’s hot as they will protect legs from stinging nettles and low branches.
  • T-shirt, preferably long sleeved.
  • Walking boots or other appropriate footwear.
  • A light jumper.
  • Sun/winter hat
  • Sun cream.  In warm weather please put sun cream on your child before coming to school.
  • Waterproof coat and trousers.

Please make sure that all clothes are clearly labelled. Different seasons call for different kit; in winter more layers will be needed. Forest School will not be cancelled due to rain unless accompanied by winds. Children WILL get muddy and wet, for some this may not come naturally. Please reassure your child that you won’t mind.
